Day Eight: Spay & Neuter
We've said it many time before and we will say it many times over and over: SPAY AND NEUTER.
Every year, millions of unwanted dogs and puppies are euthanized. The good news is that responsible pet owners can make a difference. By having your pet sterilized, you will do your part to prevent the birth of unwanted litters, but you cab also protect your pet against some serious health problems. And since the procedure has no effect on a pet’s intelligence or ability to learn, play, or work, it really is a no-brainer. All of DFW Rescue Me's dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered or will be once they are old enough for the procedure. Furthermore, we have sponsored low cost spay and neuter days! Donate today, to help us stop the cycle of unwanted litters!

Day Seven: Help Save A Life
Every little bit counts … donate $12 to help any DFW Rescue Me dog.
Day Six: Justice Fund
Still need an end of the year tax deductible donation? Then donate to our Justice Fund today and support abused and neglected dogs, such as Quint Justice. Firefighters found this little nugget, merely a few hours old, in the middle of the street. No siblings, no mom, no dad, umbilical cord still attached. Our amazing Facebook community rallied and raised enough funds, so we were able to buy an incubator, which has since saved the lives of many other little bottle babies. Help the forgotten and be their voice today; donate to our Justice Fund.
Day Five: Toys
The 5th Day of Christmas is all about toys. Toys may not be considered a necessity per se, but in a way they sort of are. We have seen the sheer joy some of our dogs, who have come from terrible situations, have expressed upon receiving their first toy ever. Or watching our youngsters learn to play with a ball. Or placing a stuffed animal in the puppy pen and seeing them all snuggle up to it. So, if you'd like to help out our fosters and purchase some toys, please check out our Amazon wish list.

Day Four: Flea, Tick, and Heartworm Prevention
The 4th Day of Christmas is dedicated to flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. As a rescue, we see them all the time. We rescue a litter of puppies that has been tossed in a dumpster and they're all flea invested. We save a dog and it's covered in ticks. And many of our adult dogs, such as Willow Justice, come into the rescue heartworm positive. The treatment is costly and can take a toll on the dog and why? Fleas, ticks, and heartworms can be so easily prevented. So donate today to help us cover the cost of flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Day Three: Vaccinations
On the 3rd Day of Christmas, we are asking for your help in covering the cost of vaccinations. Vaccinations are integral part of a dog's routine healthcare as they can effectively prevent potentially serious canine diseases. Regular vaccinations do not only protect a dog but humans as well, since some canine diseases can be transferred to humans. DFW Rescue Me strongly believes in the importance of vaccinations and all of our dogs are up-to-date on shots. TodayC we're asking for a $12 donation, which, of course, can be added as many times as you'd like to the cart :)
Day Two: Peter Justice
If you've followed us for a while, you will remember Peter Justice. He came to us in November as a tiny six-week-old puppy. He was found as a stray. He went to our amazing vets and and has seen specialists, who diagnosed him with hypospadias, a male birth defect where the opening of the urethra develops abnormally and can occur anywhere from just below the end of the penis to the scrotum. We’re patiently waiting for Peter to get older and to grow, so he can have corrective surgery. The doctors have never seen a case this bad and they want as much skin to work with as possible; therefore, we will visit the doctor again in February 2016. The estimate we have gotten for his surgery is at minimum between $4000-$6000, so we have started saving up and every little bit counts. Peter Justice is day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas and in the spirit of our fundraiser, were asking for a $12 donation to help cover the cost of his surgery. Of course, you can add the item more than once to your cart and contribute more, because being able to pee is simply priceless.
Day One: Formula
Over the past 12 months, DFW Rescue Me has rescued 46 bottle babies. Bottle babies are cute, tiny, dependent, fragile, adorable, and they certainly aren't easy; it takes a very special kinda of person to foster bottle babies and we are lucky enough to have several such fabulous foster homes. Bottle babies formula. A LOT of formula. Around the clock. And formula is expensive. For the 1st day we're asking for $35 puppy formula donations.
